Choose the ReaSnow S1 if you want mouse aim with a few built-in macros, and the Cronus Zen if you want to run scripts written by someone else; the S1 does not load GPC scripts. The S1 is a mouse-and-keyboard converter first, with built-in extras such as macros and mapping, but no open scripting. If you want mouse aim with a few conveniences, it is a candidate. If you want to load a seller's or the community's script, it is not.

Where they overlap

Feature Zen ReaSnow S1
Mouse to right stick M&K mode; tune sensitivity, curve, boost and deadzone ReaSnow's mouse engine and curve editor
Anti-recoil Any script's table, per weapon, per attachment A built-in anti-recoil macro type with values you set
Macros Any script Built-in macros, editable in the app
Remapping Any script, the M&K layouts, and Zen Studio's remapper In the app
Rapid fire Any script As a macro

The overlap is real for a player who wants mouse aim plus a fixed anti-recoil value and a macro or two. The S1 does those inside its app without a script.

Where they differ

You want Zen ReaSnow S1
A shot-timing script for NBA 2K Yes No script support
A seller's script that updates after each patch Yes No
Anti-recoil that switches with weapon and attachments Yes, in a script Values you set yourself
A GamePack with a settings menu Yes No
To write your own logic Yes, GPC No

How the Cronus Zen works covers what a script adds that a fixed feature cannot; Mouse and keyboard on the Zen covers the Zen's M&K mode in detail.

Consoles

On Xbox and PS4, the Zen needs a pad that matches the console on A1 whenever you play on a mouse, a keyboard or another console's pad; on PS5, Cronus's current guide recommends Zen Link, which gives PS5 Native Mode with a one-time setup, and describes the bypass that works without it as a manual procedure that has to be repeated (PS5 setup). ReaSnow lists the PS5, Xbox Series, Switch and older consoles as compatible with the S1; its own manual and notes are the authority for how each connects, and this site does not track them.

Risk

Identical in kind. Both produce input patterns a thumb cannot. Activision says its 2026 detections look at how inputs behave, not which device is plugged in, and Respawn's 4 March 2026 statement covers "Strikepacks, Cronus, XIM, and similar hardware that manipulate input behavior". Neither post names the S1, and neither needs to. Is the Cronus Zen detectable? applies to the S1 equally. Nothing on this site describes either as undetectable.

Which to buy

If Buy
Mouse aim, one anti-recoil value, a macro or two ReaSnow S1
Any script written by someone else Zen
NBA 2K Zen
Call of Duty with per-weapon tables that update after patches Zen
Mouse aim above all, scripts never Compare the S1 with the XIM Matrix
Not sure Zen; it does the S1's job, less elegantly, and everything the S1 cannot

Cronus Zen alternatives puts the S1 next to the whole field.

Frequently asked

What is the ReaSnow S1?
A converter for consoles built around mouse-and-keyboard play, with built-in macros (ReaSnow lists an anti-recoil macro type), button mapping, and support for wheels and flight sticks, configured through ReaSnow's app. It does not run user-written GPC scripts.
Does the ReaSnow S1 run Cronus scripts?
No. It has its own configuration and its own built-in features. GPC scripts and GamePacks are for the Zen.
Which is better for mouse and keyboard?
There is no published side-by-side test to cite, and this site has not measured one. ReaSnow builds the S1 around mouse optimisation; on the Zen, M&K is one feature among many, tuned in its M&K Settings panel.
Does the S1 work on PS5?
ReaSnow lists the PS5 among compatible consoles. Check ReaSnow's current notes for the method and console version you are on; this site does not track it.
Which is easier to set up?
For M&K only, the S1 is the more focused device, with fewer settings to learn. For anything involving a script, the Zen, because the S1 cannot run one.
Are both detectable?
Neither is undetectable. Activision says its detections look at how inputs behave rather than which device is plugged in, and Respawn's ban statement covers 'Strikepacks, Cronus, XIM, and similar hardware'.
