Warzone and the Cronus Zen: what scripts change, why tables break more often, Activision's position

Activision says the Cronus Zen is not permitted in Call of Duty, Warzone included; why Warzone recoil tables break often and what Modern Warfare 4 changes.

The Cronus Zen runs on Warzone as a controller, but Activision says devices like it "are not permitted in Call of Duty", and its February 2026 RICOCHET update names Warzone alongside Black Ops 7. Warzone shares the franchise's anti-cheat and draws its weapons from several games, and it adds a bigger map, longer engagements and frequent balance passes. This hub is the map for running the Zen on it, with Activision's position first.

Activision's position, first

Team RICOCHET's Season 02 update of 2 February 2026 names the Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix, says "These devices are not permitted in Call of Duty", and says its new detections build on "anti-cheat systems that are already delivering strong results across Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone". The detections analyse "input timing, consistency, and response patterns" rather than looking for the hardware. Activision's Security and Enforcement Policy (page dated 31 July 2026) lists "unapproved input modification devices" as a violation and says permanent bans "can apply across titles". Is the Cronus Zen detectable? has the dated record. Nothing on this site describes any script as undetectable.

What a script changes

Feature What it does Depends on Goes stale when
Anti-recoil Pushes the stick against recoil while firing A table per weapon and attachment set Any balance pass; frequent
Long-range tuning The same table over longer bursts Table detail over time Same
Aim-assist tuning Small stick movement to keep assist engaged Assist rules by range Rule changes
Movement macros Slide, dive, plate-and-move combos Binds and the movement set Movement changes
Rapid fire Semi-auto weapons as repeated presses Fire mode Rarely
Remaps Any button to any Nothing Never

Call of Duty anti-recoil scripts explained is the mechanism.

Why tables break more often here

Warzone factor Effect on a script
Weapons from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 in the Legacy tab More profiles to maintain; more that a pass can touch
Balance passes at each season, between seasons, and in hotfixes More frequent table updates
Modern Warfare 4 content from its Season 1 A new set of weapons to build tables for
Long engagements The pull over a full burst matters; a rough table is exposed
Attachments matter more at range Per-build profiles rather than per-weapon

Setup that keeps a pull steady

Element Setting Why
Play pad Wired; on A1 on Xbox, on A3 on PS5 Wired vs wireless
Zen Direct into the console Ports and cables
PS5 Zen Link on A1, pad on A3, Cronus's PS5 settings applied PS5 setup
Xbox Official Microsoft pad, wired, on A1 Xbox Series setup
Sensitivity and ADS sensitivity Entered in the script as in the game Tables scaled to both
Profile Matches the loadout in hand Wrong profile, wrong pull
Test Firing range or a private match after every pass Before a public one

Quirks specific to Warzone

  • Two sensitivities. Hip and ADS multipliers both affect the pull; most scripts take both.
  • Loadout swaps. Ground loot is not your loadout. Profile switching mid-match is the friction of scripts in a battle royale.
  • Plates and movement. Macros that chain plating with a slide are common and fragile to bind changes.
  • PS4 and Xbox One. Activision says Warzone on those consoles stops being playable when Modern Warfare 4's Season 1 begins.
  • PC. Activision's post calls these devices a disruption "on every platform"; PC setup.

Frequently asked

Does the Cronus Zen work on Warzone?
As a controller, yes. Activision says devices like the Cronus Zen 'are not permitted in Call of Duty', and its 2 February 2026 RICOCHET post describes new detections built on the anti-cheat running in Black Ops 7 and Warzone.
Why do Warzone recoil tables break more than multiplayer ones?
Warzone's weapon pool spans Modern Warfare II to Black Ops 7 through its Legacy tab, balance passes come every season and between seasons, and long-range recoil matters more, so more of the table is in play and more of it changes.
What is different about scripts in Warzone?
Longer engagement ranges make the pull's accuracy matter more, and the mixed weapon pool means more profiles. Movement macros matter for the same reasons as in multiplayer.
Do I need a different script for Warzone and Black Ops 7?
Usually one script with separate tables. Check that the script names Warzone and the current season, and expect new tables once Modern Warfare 4 content arrives.
What happens to Warzone when Modern Warfare 4 launches?
Activision says Modern Warfare 4 launches on 23 October 2026 with Season 1 shortly after, when Warzone integrates Modern Warfare 4 content and stops being playable on PS4 and Xbox One.
Wired or wireless?
Wired: the pad on A1 on Xbox, on A3 on PS5, where Zen Link takes A1. Long-range recoil control with wireless stutter is worse than none.
Is Warzone on PC different?
Activision's post describes these devices as a disruption on every platform. The device is a controller to the PC; the rules are the same.
